COVID-19 - RESTRICTIONS

As of 21st December 2020 the course is currently closed under COVID 19 lockdown restrictions.

Mountain Ash Golf Club re-opened the course under phase 1 of the Covid-19 conditions on 18th May 2020. On July 13th 2020 we moved in to phase 2. The conditions are outlined below.

​

Booking

​

  • The course will be open for members or visitors every day of the week.

  • You cannot play unless you have a pre-booked tee time.

  • Bookings must be made via the ClubV1 Members Hub App or by phoning the office.

  • Tee times will be available Monday to Friday from 8am-7pm, and from 7am-7pm on

  • weekends. Tee times will be in 8 minute intervals.

  • Bookings can be made up to three days in advance. There is a maximum of 2

  • bookings to start and you will need to have played your first round before you can book the next round.

Arriving at the club

​

  • If you are ill or have symptoms of Covid-19, please do not come to the Club.

  • Please consider packing your bag with hand sanitiser.

  • Obey social distancing rules at all times.

  • Locker rooms are open for six people people at a time, please adhere to social

  • distancing rules and a face covering must be worn if aged 11 or over.

  • Trolley room is open for one person at a time.

  • Toilets are open and cleaned on a regular basis.

The Course and Playing Golf

​

  • Groups can be made up to four people from four different households.

  • Do not approach green keepers.

  • 2 metre lines will be placed on the matting on the way to the 1st tee.

  • Do not head to the 1st tee any earlier than 5 minutes before your tee time.

  • Do not enter the teeing ground until clear.

  • Flags will be lined within the cup. Do not touch the flag or remove the flag under any circumstance.

  • Yellow tees for male golfers, red tees for female golfers. Blue and White tees are for competition golf.

  • Rakes will be removed from bunkers and bunkers will be in use with preferred lies.

  • Players must start on the first tee and stick to the course layout, for example no

  • jumping from the 7th green to the 16th tee.

  • Bells out of use but can be struck with a club head at the players own risk. The club

  • will not be responsible if a club breaks whilst doing this.

  • Benches out of use.

  • Shoe cleaner out of use.

  • Golf Ball washers out of use.

  • Do not use the gate near the 3rd green.

  • Single buggy use only.

  • The office will be staffed under normal hours, only one person to enter at a time and

  • a face covering must be worn.

Reciprocal Arrangements during local lockdown

​

With a number of counties on a local lockdown due to Covid-19 restrictions we have arranged reciprocal agreements with other clubs so that members can play at courses in their own borough for free until restrictions are ended. The agreements we have in place are as follows:

Members that live in Caerphilly County Borough can play at Bargoed Golf Club. To book a tee time phone on 01443 830143.

Members that live in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough have two options: 

​

Whitehall Golf Club. To book a tee time phone on Phone on 01443 740245.

​

or

​

Morlais Castle Golf Club. To book a tee time phone on Phone on 01685 722822.

  • Please take your MAGC bag tag with you.

  • The above arrangements are only for residents who live in the areas above, do not visit the above clubs or book tee times as a Mountain Ash member if you do not live in those areas, we will be in regular dialogue with all clubs.

  • Do not come to Mountain Ash Golf Club if you live outside of Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Competition Golf

​

  • The Competition will run from 8am-2pm where the course will be reserved for the competition only.

  • Booking must be made online through The ClubV1 App or through Howdidido booking section. On the homepage of the app or on the “booking” tab you will see a tab called “bookable competitions”. Click the small arrow in the corner of that tab to take you through to booking where you will be asked if you wish to add a partner and to make payment.

  • You can make payment to enter either by cash or card in the office on the day of the competition.

  • Scorecards will be available for collection in the office upon making payment.

  • Players can decide if they wish to mark their own scorecard or swap the card with their playing partner. Please ensure that the card is wiped and hands are sanitised if you decide to do this.

  • After finishing the round, members can decide to input the score in to the system using the Mobile Score Input section on the Howdidido app, after that place the card in to the box on the table next to the junior room.

  • John will put the cards through the system the following day.

  • Winnings will be available for collection from the office.

  • If you are not playing in the competition, you may play between 7 and 8am or from1pm to 7pm

Clubhouse and Bar

​

  • The Function Room is open for drinks and catering to members, and guests who have played golf, we are not open to the public at this time. Do not bring members of the public to the club.

  • The opening times for the bar area are Tuesday to Friday 12pm-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 11:30am-7pm.

  • Face coverings must be worn in all areas of the Clubhouse including the locker room and the ladies room. They can be removed when in the bar/restaurant area and this rule does not apply to those aged under 11.

  • Please use your members bar card as the first preferred method of payment. Please top it up enough to last the day and order drinks by quoting your card number to the bar staff. If you do not have a bar card, please let the staff know and they will be able to arrange this.

  • The second preferred method of payment is by contactless card. Please only use cash as a last resort.

  • Table service is in operation. Please raise your hand to get the attention of the staff and please respect staff at all times.

  • Tables have been set out to comply with social distancing rules. Do not move chairs or tables under any circumstance.

  • Up to 30 people may sit outside.

  • Locker room toilets are open as well as the toilets next to the office which will be

  • inspected and cleaned on a regular basis. If the toilets are in use, then please wait outside.

  • The toilets are to be used for toilet use only. If anyone is found taking drugs on the premises this will result in an immediate lifetime ban and the report will be passed on to the police.

  • Please be mindful and observe etiquette while sitting outside for golfers on the 3rd green, 18th green and 4th tee.

  • Please maintain social distancing measures at all times.

GDPR

​

  • General Data Protection Regulations allow information from visitors to be shared with NHS Test and Trace to help minimise the transmission of COVID-19 and support public health and safety. Any data recorded solely for the purpose of NHS Test and Trace will be disposed of after 21 days.

  • Things are changing on a daily basis and we will update members of changes when they happen. We will continue to operate under these guidelines until further notice. Failure to adhere to these rules could result in the Club re-closing. We have been informed by the local authority that random visits will take place so it’s vital that the above rules are adhered to. We are monitoring daily Government advice and inevitably circumstances will change. Our number one priority is the health and welfare of all members, guests and members of staff, it’s vital that all individuals follow the Government guidance on ‘Social Distancing’ and ‘Self Isolation’. The use of the course and clubhouse is at your own risk
